We've got a long list of EFL Trophy games on Tuesday night, as the knockout stage of this competition begins. This clash between Wrexham and Burton Albion looks to be one of the more intriguing, putting together one of the stronger League Two sides with a team struggling in League One.
Wrexham Form GuideYou can't really call it an upset if Wrexham beat Burton, as they're favourites to win this tie, but it would still be a side from League Two beating a team from League One. Wrexham are second in League Two, aiming for back to back promotions, and playing some very good, and also very attacking football.
Big winners at the weekend, Wrexham won 3-0 at home to Yeovil, a non league side, before that they went away to Harrogate and drew 2-2. At home they've been very strong, and their last three home games have seen them win 3-0 vs Yeovil, 6-0 vs Morecambe and 2-0 vs Gillingham. In all competitions, they've won their last six at home.
Burton AlbionUp their with the worst teams I've seen live in League One this season, I am not surprised at all to see Burton Albion in the bottom half of the league table, and continuing to fall. In 17th with 20 points, they're now just four points above the relegation zone, and come here without a win from their last seven league games.
Out of the FA Cup, Burton didn't play at the weekend, but they were in action last Tuesday, when they lost 2-0 at home to Portsmouth, the current league leaders. Before that, they were heavily beaten 4-0 away at Peterborough, this is a side really struggling for anything right now, and high flying Wrexham is not what they need.
Match PredictionWhile Wrexham are a league below Burton, Wrexham are favourites to win this game, and are my pick to do so. They come here full of confidence, full of goals and with plenty to offer, I think they'll have too much for Burton.
